You might think it takes a bewilderingly long list of ingredients to formulate the range of fragrance, makeup, skincare and home offerings you see on the shelves today. In fact, it isn't that complicated.

As we celebrate 15 grand years of beauty this month, we have selected 15 of these simple, everyday ingredients that can be found in over 40 of the beauty and lifestyle products we will be featuring over a five-part series that will be pushed out throughout this month. In this series, Jasmine, Lily and Rose take the spotlight.

With its energising and uplifting floral aroma, jasmine is known to improve moods and for its rejuventaing qualities. The shrubs which produce the jasmine flower is grown commercially for their fragrance blooms and essential oil extracts.

BYREDO Bal D'Afrique Kabuki Perfume

Inspired by the refinement of this extremely codified form of theatre and the traditional brushes used by Japanese actors to apply their makeup, BYREDO's founder Ben Gorham has created a new art of perfuming in the form of the Kabuki Brush. Housed in a retractable brush, a micro-fine powder diffuses the Bal D'Afrique fragrance filled with notes of bergamot, neroli, lemon, jasmine petals and musk.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum

One of escentials’ best-selling product, it’s not hard to see why Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Baccarat Rouge 540 is a hit with consumers and influencers alike. A luminous and sophisticated fragrance, the scent lays comfortably on the skin on a cushion of amber, floral and woody notes of jasmine, saffron, ambergris and cedar wood, adding a veil of mystery and character to the wearer of the beautiful scent.

Leonor Greyl Masque Fleurs de Jasmin

We can’t get through the week without using a conditioning hair mask once, and this mask from Leonor Greyl is at the top of our list. Formulated with plant ceramides, film-forming silk proteins and botanical oils, this delectable-smelling hair treatment strengthens and increases flexibility, adding a glossy shine to tresses. The hair mask also contains jasmine flower water to leave hair soft, shiny and delicately scented.

A delicate plant of the Ruscaceae family, the lily emits a delicate, light scent, often with citrus and green notes lingering in the background. Found across Asia, Europe and parts of America, there are many varieties of lilies, with some of them filling up a room with its sweet fragrance in no time, and others emitting no scent at all.

Diptyque Muguet Candle

This scented candle will fill your home with the efferverscence and lively vibes of Lily of the Valley. With its cheerful and sprightly qualities, it isn’t difficult to see why diptyque’s Muguet is also regarded as a good luck charm.

BYREDO Inflorescence Eau de Parfum

According to our trusty dictionary, an Inflorescence is a cluster of flowers perched on a branch or an arrangement of branches. To BYREDO, however, this perfume celebrates the beginning of spring, nature's perennial and powerful rebirth. Founder Ben Gorham designed this floral scent that would capture the strength and beauty of wild garden blossoms, just as they reach their dramatic peak. At once romantic and alluring.

Carriere Freres Majalis Candle

Carrying the scent of happy and carefree days, the Majalis candle is an invigorating and pure scent filled with Lily of the Valley notes.

The king – or queen - of all flowers, you definitely cannot deny the romantic allure of roses. Roses have been valued for many centuries, and still continue to reign as a popular choice amongst friends, families and lovers alike.

BYREDO Rose Of No Man’s Land

A fitting tribute to the nurses (often referred to by soldiers as Rose of No Man’s Land) who saved thousands of lives on the front lines of World War I, Rose Of No Man’s Land is a stunning composition that blossoms with fresh notes of Turkish Rose Petals and Pink Pepper, elegantly paving the way for Raspberry Blossom and Turkish Rose Absolute to settle in. The sophistication of White Amber and Papyrus then form a warm base, creating a stunning rose scent that is hard to deny.

Enriched with rose-derived wax, butter and oil, this moisturiser from By Terry guards against the signs of ageing, maintaining the hydrolipid balance of skin while nourishing, protecting and smoothening. Suited for all skin types, the formulation boasts black and pastel rose oil extracts.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian A La Rose Scented Body Oil

Adding a luxurious touch to a new product isn’t a bad idea, which is what Maison Francis Kurkdjian has done for A La Rose Scented Body Oil. It is the brand’s first venture into body oils, and it draws from Bulgaria’s Damascena Rose and Centifolia Rose from France to pamper the skin with a veil of femininity. To top it off, the oils of argan, sweet almond and apricot kernel moisturise and regenerate, leaving a touch of radiance behind.
