Paris-based, Tunisian-born fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa has expanded his universe and launched his debut perfume creation, the Alaïa Eau de Parfum.
Carla Sozzani, the owner of 10 Corso Como, designer Martin Szekely and photographer Paolo Roversi, who count as Azzedine’s close friends, came together in the creation committee. Perfumer Marie Salamagne joined shortly after hearing of Azzedine’s brief on his debut fragrance, which was “the smell of cold water falling on hot chalk”.
Marie said: “Very quickly, I came up with a formula that evoked this feeling: They were fresh, aquatic mineral notes. I created this accord by progressive essays, in less than (a) day. Then, I had the intuition that it needed to be mixed in clair-obscur, in a less innocent way, and I added an animal note by surrounding it with musk.”
Top Note: Airy Notes, Pink Pepper.
Heart Note: Freesia, Peony.
Base Note: Animal Notes, Musk.
